Bakir boss guide
Bakir’s duel is the night-game quest The Lunar Game, begun at Lunar Manor after his Court anger is full.
Prerequisites and timing
- Complete Smoke and Ashes, then clear Bakir Court Activities until maximum anger.
- Meet Farkas at Lunar Manor specifically in the afternoon (five daytime segments), spend three segments in the pre-game area, and continue into the dusk maze.
- The quest itself has no fail state and takes about six time segments. You cannot use Vampiric abilities in the maze without revealing Coen, so prepare a sword-only loadout.
Weaknesses and counters
Bakir has no published fixed elemental weakness. His practical weakness is spacing: his punches are short-range while his blood lines and bird volleys are telegraphed ranged attacks. Dodge sideways through the lines and keep moving until the entire bird volley has passed, then punish the recovery with one or two sword hits.
If you take the direct dialogue route you fight Bakir and his guards with almost no equipment. Keep the mask on, complete the maze, and use the yellow dialogue options to reach him alone in the treasure room whenever possible.
Recommended build and equipment
- Swordmastery with quick attacks, perfect blocks, and stamina recovery is mandatory for the maze.
- Bring a repaired one-handed weapon, medium armour, healing vials, and a spare save after every maze encounter on Duelist.
- Poison the liquor before dusk to remove Cockroach from the maze; speak to Porcupine beforehand to avoid another fight.
- Do not spend blood or corruption resources before the final room; the maze disallows Vampirism.
Fight plan and rewards
Clear guards first if you did not isolate him. Bait a punch, step out, then counter; when Bakir raises his hands, strafe rather than block the blood lines or birds. On defeat, draining unlocks Shadowstorm; killing and looting grants the legendary medium chestplate Bakir’s Armour. The quest awards 500 XP.
