BLOODDAWN

Brencis final boss guide

Brencis is the end boss of A Deal with the Devil, unlocked after Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe are defeated and the next day’s Infamy Edict scene has played.

Prerequisites and timing

  • Defeat all three vassals and begin the final quest from Brencis’s parley.
  • Keep a manual save before the parley. Finish Lacra’s Midnight Reckoning and/or Crake’s Rise at Dawn first if you want ally endings; the opening dialogue determines whether they join, betray, or leave you.
  • Reach the finale within 30 in-game days. A save before the final quest is the safest way to test every ending.

Weaknesses and counters

Brencis’s practical weakness is telegraph discipline. Clear summoned wraiths first, parry shield-marked attacks, and dodge attacks marked with a skull (they are unblockable). In phase one, drain his main health bar to trigger the teleport to Anachora; phase two is Brencis, Grotesque Ascendant and continues the same parry/dodge logic with heavier damage.

No fixed elemental weakness is confirmed for the retail build. Build around interrupt windows, stamina, and survivability instead of chasing an unverified damage type.

Recommended build and equipment

  • Swordmastery: perfect block/parry, riposte damage, stamina recovery, and a fast finisher.
  • Add one Witchcraft control or defensive hex for wraith waves; Vampirism is best used for emergency healing between teleports.
  • Wear your highest upgraded armour, fill every healing slot, and carry spare blood consumables. Repair before entering the castle.
  • If fighting without allies, reserve burst skills for the Anachora transition and phase-two openings.

Fight plan and outcomes

Do not tunnel Brencis while wraiths are alive. Remove adds, read the shield/skull markers, then punish a successful parry. After the Anachora transition, repeat the add-clear and defensive cycle until the Ascendant form falls. Dialogue and allies determine the ending: solo, Lacra, Crake, or Brencis’s deal. The final fight locks the run to the ending cinematic, so reload the pre-finale save for other outcomes.
