Forge It Anew walkthrough
Retail evidence: PC Gamer identifies the St. Mihai coffin trigger, all three Kobold-nest shards, and the Uriashi Hermit blacksmith.
Start the quest
After defeating St. Mihai in A Monk and a Saint, read the note in his coffin. You must collect three shards before reforging the Sword of St. Mihai.
Sword shard locations
- Northeast Maragir Wealds: cross the river northeast of Upper Maragir Wealds shrine, follow the cave trail, defeat the Kobolds, and take the shard from the broken cross.
- North Rockfalls: approach from the east forest, southwest of Giant's Pawns shrine and east over the mountains from Westridge Outpost. Defeat the corrupted Kobold Munch-Munch and loot the shard in the nest.
- South St. Tyna's Grove: travel southeast from Crossroads Inn, follow the hill road to the Kobold nest, then track the shard to the Xanthe camp in The Silts and loot the chest in the main tent.
Reforge
Take all three shards to the Uriashi Hermit blacksmith in northwest Briar Sloughs. The reforged silver sword is a vampire-slaying weapon and unlocks the follow-up A Bulwark Against Darkness route.

The three Sword Shards and the Night Terrors hilt are one-time quest materials. Reforge the blade at Uriashi's Hermit blacksmith; keep a save before turning in the final shard if you are also collecting missable equipment.
