Beat the Ravenous Bear

  1. Improve the starting sword first if possible; PC Gamer recommends completing Deep Down for the Undead Warrior's Sword.
  2. Parry regular attacks and dodge sideways from red unblockable attacks.
  3. Time Perfect Parries when the shield changes from yellow to orange.
  4. Back off when stamina is low and use the bear's jumping attack to recover safely.
  5. Inspect the mangled corpse behind the bear to start the treasure portion of Into the Den, then follow the clue to the flat stone marked with an X.

This is an early Laslea-area challenge. The prologue register lists it as not time-sensitive, while other quest lists group it with the opening route; check the journal's hourglass icon in your build before spending a segment.
