Should you force-feed Esme?

Short answer: Choose “I won't feed her against her will” if you want the kinder role-play result. The decision has no long-term effect.

What happens

The choice appears at the start of the prologue when Pieter asks Coen to feed Esme. “Alright. Let's try” makes Coen attempt to force-feed her; refusing causes Pieter to try instead. Esme knocks the spoon away in either version and the story moves to Anca's medicine task.

| Choice | Immediate result | Long-term result | | --- | --- | --- | | Try to force-feed | Esme rejects Coen's attempt and becomes distressed | No reported impact | | Refuse | Pieter makes the attempt and Esme still rejects it | No reported impact |

Do not confuse this with Withering Away: the later hot-water and three-herb medicine recipe is the prologue choice that affects Esme's survival at Blood Mass. This opening prompt has no reward, achievement, or romance consequence.

Timing: It is an opening prologue dialogue choice; subsequent prologue tasks remain time-sensitive.
