Should you kill or spare the Chief Jailor?
Short answer: Spare him if you want the map without combat; kill him for combat XP and extra body loot. Both routes provide the Treasure Map: Hidden Stash.
Evil and Convenience
Clear the draining camp in Briar Sloughs, investigate the highlighted clues, take the Brass Key from the barn, and unlock the cabin. The activity costs three time segments and can be completed during either phase; daytime enables the dead guard's soul investigation.

Follow the map to the fallen tree outside the palisade for the hidden chest. The shared reward is the map route; the choice is primarily role-play, combat XP, loot, and Corruption.
