BLOODDAWN

Key choices and consequences

The Blood of Dawnwalker lets Coen pursue several routes in one 30-day run, but individual decisions can still close quests, rewards, or endings. Keep a manual save whenever an option shows an hourglass, a named NPC, a blood drain, or a point-of-no-return warning.

Deadline

Prologue decisions

Choice | Immediate result | Long-term consequence --- | --- | --- Give Esme the correct medicine before the timer expires | Esme survives the prologue | Required for the “In the Nick of Time” family rescue route Stay with Anca in Page-Turner | Costs one segment and advances warmth | Keeps Anca’s romance path open Finish clock-marked prologue quests before Sacred Covenant | Preserves opening side quests | Unfinished prologue tasks disappear after the prologue Choose the intimate answer in Anca’s inn scene | Confirms the relationship | Friendship response quietly ends her romance

Vassal and reward decisions

  • Ambrus — The Bittersweet Toast: add the Tatzelwurm gland to poison him, or skip the poison and fight normally. Poison makes the duel safer but consumes the optional quest route. After victory, drain him for Scarlet Shield or kill and loot him.
  • Bakir — The Lunar Game: poison the liquor to remove Cockroach from the maze; speak with Porcupine beforehand to avoid his fight. Keep the mask on and follow the yellow dialogue to fight Bakir alone. Drain for Shadowstorm or kill and loot Bakir’s Armour.
  • Xanthe — The Cycle of Love: kill Xanthe or accept her cooperation. Sparing her removes supernatural enemies from the final castle; killing her leaves those enemies in place. Either choice satisfies the related achievement, but only draining grants her named blood.
  • Named blood is a one-time strategic choice in the current save. Save before each vassal reward if you want to compare abilities, equipment, and ending preparation.

Romance and alliance decisions

Anca, Crake, and Lacra can all be pursued in one playthrough. Their commitment choices affect scenes and epilogue appearances, while the final ally choice determines the standard ending:

  • Finish Midnight Reckoning and choose Lacra for The Patricide.
  • Finish Rise at Dawn and choose Crake for The Knyazmaker.
  • Reject both allies for The Folk Hero.
  • Accept Brencis’s deal in A Deal with the Devil for The Turncoat.

Early and failure endings

  • After the prologue, leave through the western Briar Sloughs gate at night to trigger A Hero They Deserve. Coen escapes but does not save his family or Laslea.
  • In Home Sweet Home, complete four dream loops and stay with the family on the fifth for Together Forever. Inspecting the well exits the loop instead.
  • Let more than 30 in-game days pass before defeating Brencis for Time Runs Out; the family is sacrificed and no ending trophy is awarded.

Save strategy

Keep separate saves before Sacred Covenant, each vassal duel, romance commitments, named blood rewards, Home Sweet Home, and A Deal with the Devil. After each ending the game returns to the title screen, so reload the pre-finale save to test every outcome.
